Gloria September Limited Coffee Cold

Isamar Medina (AKA Kawaii Suga) is a Mexican-American, Chicago South Side native. Her art explores the hypocritical social taboos women face, subverting ideas of femininity and control. Her goal is to help empower women and other artists still trying to find their voice. The name of this blend is a nod to Gloria Anzaldúa, an American scholar of Chicana cultural theory, feminist theory, and queer theory, and Gloria Steinem, an American feminist, journalist, and social-political activist.

This year's Gloria, is composed of Catuai Honey from Finca San Jeronimo Miramar in Guatemala -bringing a juicy, fruit-forward character to the coffee. We paired it with a honey processed Sampacho from Finca Las Marias in El Salvador. Sampacho is a somewhat unusual variety - a cross between Caturra, a compact, dwarf mutation of Bourbon, and San Bernardo, also called Pache, which is a compact, dwarf mutation of typical. The honey processed Sampacho is sweet, with orange, citrusy notes that work well with the Catuai!
